something special

good morning! while i don't have any pictures for you today, i do want to share something with you all that lifted my spirits and was a much needed reminder for me - hopefully i am the only one who has lost sight of this, thought i doubt it. i hope that as you read this, you would look at it with fresh eyes and would allow the Spirit to speak to your heart:

Paul writes to the Body in Ephesus (and to us):

I pray that out of [the Father's] glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being...

why? so that we have a good day? so that we have the patience to wait for what we've asked the Father to do for us? nope.

... so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge —that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

He wants us to get our mind around how big His love is! not only that, but He wants us to know that which surpasses knowledge! do you know how much we would be changed if we could grasp and know this immense love?? can you imagine what it would be like to be filled to the full with the fullness of God???

Now...

are you ready for this?? now...

... to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine...

hopefully you are unlike me. at first all i could think of was a bunch of circumstantial things - sure, they are important, but... in the end, they are just here and now things that don't have much eternal significance. God, in his grace, pointed this out to me - though it is still hard to see past what's right in front of my face which is often times so distracting!

... according to his power that is at work within us (not our own!), to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

this reminded me of a song that i really miss singing:
To God be the glory, great things he hath done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
Who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
And opened the lifegate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, let the earth hear his voice!

O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,
And give him the glory, great things he hath done!

He has done great things. please pray that He continues to do great things - especially here in Basque Country. i'm sorry i don't have any profound take-away points for you, but i'm sure the Spirit is up for doing His job and can do that for you! until next time!
