dream kitchen

as many of you know, we are working towards putting in a kitchen here at the local. we have already purchased many things, but we really need some help buying the rest of the cabinets, appliances, countertops, etc.
i thought that it would be cool if we could share with you all a visual, so we went to IKEA's website and made our dream kitchen! here it is!

pretty cool, huh? yeah, we think so too. now here comes the hard part: it will cost us 4000€ in total to complete the project. we've already purchased the fridge, microwave, oven, stove, and dishwasher which cost about 2000€. so, we still need 2000€ to make our kitchen (and our cooking classes, and our dinners, and our neighborhood parties, and our hosting events) happen. below i have written out a breakdown of what each piece costs. i know this number seems super high, but will you pray about helping us accomplish our goal?

we are slowly but surely putting aside money every month for this project. the Lord has been so good and has provided so many new students this year. thank you SO MUCH for your prayers - He is answering them! however, at the rate we are able to save (and still love on everyone like we want to as well as pay the bills) it will take us several months to make this dream kitchen happen. originally, we had hoped to have the kitchen installed in october or november, but with all that has happened - or not happened - with the local, things got pushed back and ideas changed, and then we realized that we could now do something a bit bigger so we could give better classes and have more than one person in the kitchen at a time! however, bigger plans mean a bigger budget, which is why we are asking for your help if you can give it (or know someone who can).

so, if you would like to help us with this project or have a suggestion for us, would you let us know? we want to be the best stewards of God's money that we can be, so we would love all the help and advice we can get. thanks so much for all your prayers! we really really appreciate them!

NEW UPDATE: this afternoon (our time) someone contacted us and offered to pay for the "Sink Wall"! thank the Lord with us for providing for us!

to give you a visual...

for those of you who have read our latest newsletter, you know that we are in the process of becoming self-employed. like most paperwork processes here, it involves lots of papers, lots of copies, and lots of communication problems. this video is a great (while slightly exaggerated) example of what i'm talking about. have a good laugh as you watch this and then remember to pray for us as we try to do the right thing - which means going through all the paperwork.

sundaes

who wouldn't want free ice cream?? well, apparently not these kids. all the kids in these pictures live in our neighborhood and a couple of weeks ago we threw an ice cream sundae party for them. we played games, made a mess with all the toppings, and the kids signed up for free game night classes in English. now, we've had two weeks of classes and we've had a total of five kids come - three 7 and 8 year old boys come for the first hour, and then two 13 year old girls come for the second hour. they are a lot of fun. the boys are mostly full of rambunctious energy, but oh well, it's still fun. you'll spot Unai, our goofball.
